ENS Explorer (explorer.ens.dev) shows everything ENS knows about a name or an address. Look up any name to see who owns it, which address it points to, and its full history. If you own the name, manage it there: register, renew, edit its records (the information stored on it), set your primary name (the name apps show for your wallet), and hand out roles: the permissions that decide who else may act on the name.

Both work with the same names, and you can use either. The ENS App (app.ens.dev) is the friendlier place for everyday tasks like managing your own names and profile. Explorer shows more of what is underneath: every record, every permission (role), the contracts behind the name, and every change ever made to it. It is also the only place for the more advanced jobs: deploying a subregistry on your name so it can issue subnames, creating those subnames, setting roles and permissions, and setting a primary name on an L2 network. That makes it the place to go when you want the full picture, when something does not look right, or when the ENS App does not offer what you need.

Browsing is open to everyone: search any name or address, read records, check ownership and expiry, and follow a name's history. The home page also shows recent activity across ENS as it happens.

Registering and renewing names, editing records, setting a primary name, and granting roles all involve transactions, so you'll need to connect a wallet first. Explorer works on Sepolia testnet, so transactions use test funds, not real money.
