Can I pay with stablecoins?

Pay for a name in USDC or DAI and the price you see is the price you pay. You still need a little ETH for gas.

Note: The ENS App and ENS Explorer are both currently on Sepolia testnet. Behaviour and available features may change before mainnet.

Stablecoins are tokens tied to a fixed price, usually one US dollar. Pay with one and the cost you see at checkout is the cost you pay, whatever ETH is doing that day. The app supports USDC and DAI. You still need a little ETH for gas.

Why pay with a stablecoin

If ETH's price is moving, a stablecoin locks in the dollar cost shown on screen. No slippage, no surprise at confirmation.

You still need ETH

Note: onchain changes cost gas — the network fee Ethereum charges to process a transaction. It is paid in ETH from your connected wallet and goes to the network, not to ENS. Your wallet shows the exact fee before you approve.

You pay for the name in your stablecoin and for gas in ETH. A few dollars' worth is usually enough.

Common questions

Can I pay with a credit or debit card?

Not yet. Card payment is on the way but isn't ready, and may not arrive until after mainnet. There's no firm date. For now you pay with crypto from your connected wallet. Connect a wallet in the ENS App and the checkout shows the network fee and the name's price before you confirm.

Which stablecoins can I use?

USDC and DAI.
