Edit your ENS profile

Add or change your ENS profile records in the ENS App: bio, social links, wallet addresses, avatar and theme, then save in one step.

ENS App and Explorer are on the Sepolia testnet. Features may change before mainnet.

Your ENS profile is the set of records other apps read to show who yourname.eth is. That means your avatar, bio, social handles and the wallet addresses you receive funds at. You edit it in the ENS App: select Edit Profile, change what you want, then Save Changes.

Good to know

  • Everything you add is public. Records live on the blockchain, so anyone who looks up your name can read them. See Is my ENS name private?

  • Saving is a transaction. With Smart Sessions on, the app signs it for you in the background; with it off, you confirm in your wallet. Either way, gas (the network fee) comes from your wallet.

Edit your profile

  1. Open a name you own and select Edit Profile.

  2. Select a + chip in any section (Bio, Contact information, Social links, Links, Other records, Addresses) to add a value. A box opens to type in, and the chip turns to −. Select − to remove the value again.

  3. For a social link, select the platform's chip, such as + X (Twitter), and type your handle without the @; the app adds it on display. Twelve platforms are listed: X (Twitter), Telegram, Farcaster, Instagram, Discord, GitHub, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, Twitch and Mastodon. For anything else, use + Add Link under Links and give it a name and a URL.

  4. For wallet addresses, add the chains you want under Addresses. EVM chains (networks that work like Ethereum, such as Base and Arbitrum) reuse the Ethereum address already on your name, so you type nothing. For a chain that is not EVM, such as Bitcoin, enter that chain's address.

  5. To change your avatar or banner, select the avatar square or the banner area at the top. To change your theme colour, pick one of the four swatches. Full steps: Customise your avatar, banner & theme.

  6. Select Save Changes at the bottom of the editor. A pop-up lists what you changed; check it and confirm. Saving takes around 10 to 15 seconds. When it finishes, select Go to Profile to see the result on your public page.

Common questions

Why doesn't the social-links box show the @?

Your public profile adds the @ on display; it is not stored. Type the bare handle (like myhandle) and the profile shows @myhandle. Adding the @ yourself can double it up.

Will my social pills use my theme colour?

Yes. The social-link pills on your public profile take the theme colour you pick, for every visitor. Change the theme later and save again, and the pills update too.

What does Reset Changes do?

It undoes everything you have changed since you opened the editor: chips snap back, the theme reverts, and Save Changes greys out. It is instant and needs no signature, because nothing has been saved to the blockchain yet.

How do I change a social handle I've already added?

Open the editor, select the handle's box, retype it and save. One save covers it. Or remove the handle with its − chip, save, then add the new one.
