What's public on my ENS profile?

Your ENS profile is public by default. Anything you add to your name is public and anyone who goes to https://app.ens.dev/<yourname>.eth (or visits via another ENS-aware app or wallet) can see every record you've saved on the name.

There is no per-record privacy toggle. Here's the breakdown of which fields are public, the distinction between profile records and notification contact methods, and how to remove anything you'd rather not show.

What information on my ENS profile is public?

Anything you saved as a record on /p/<yourname>.eth/edit is public. Any visitor will see:

Bio — Short Description and Website.
Contact Information — Email Address, Location, Phone Number, Mailing Address, Timezone.
Social Links — X (Twitter), Telegram, Farcaster, Instagram, Discord, GitHub, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, Twitch, Mastodon.
Links — every Name + URL pair you save.
Wallet Addresses — every chain address (ETH and any of the 100+ supported chains).
Theme colour — propagates to your name pill, your bio-card icons, and your social pill backgrounds for every visitor.
Avatar — your uploaded image.
Header — whatever sits behind the avatar tile.
Content Hash and ABI — the technical fields under "Other".
Custom records — any you might have added.

Will my email or phone number be visible to other people?

Yes — if you save them as records on the Edit Profile form, they are publicly visible to anyone who looks up your name. They render in the Bio card on your public profile.

The Address card on Edit Profile carries the disclosure: All addresses will be publicly visible on your profile.
The Contact Information card carries the equivalent disclosure: These records will be publicly visible on your profile.

If you only want to use your email or phone for notifications (not for visitors to see), use the /notifications/settings page instead — those fields are private. See What's the difference between the Email under Notifications and the Email Address record? below.

What's the difference between the Email under Notifications and the Email Address record?

They are two different fields and two different audiences:

Email Notifications on /notifications/settings — a private contact method. The app sends you notifications (expiry alerts, transfers, ENS Labs updates) at this address. It does not appear anywhere on your public profile, and other visitors cannot see it. To set up: click the bell icon → cog → enter your email → SEND VERIFICATION → click the verification link.
Email Address record on /p/<yourname>.eth/edit — a public contact method. It tells visitors how to reach you. It renders on your profile in the Bio card. To set up: open Edit Profile → toggle the Email Address chip → type the address → Save Changes.

The same applies to Telegram: there's a Telegram contact method on /notifications/settings (private — the app's bot sends you notifications) and a Telegram social link on Edit Profile (public — your handle on your profile). Phone Number lives only on Edit Profile and is therefore always public if set.

How do I hide a record I've already saved?

Edit profile on your name, find the active chip for the record you want to remove (an active chip shows a − instead of +), and click it. Then:

Click Save Changes in the right rail.
The Review Changes to make sure that record is listed as being [Removed]
Click Save Changes inside the modal.
The Smart Session signs silently — and you'll see a green Profile updated confirmation with the transaction hash.
Click Go to Profile to verify the record is gone from the public view.

Note: The remove operation is onchain. Visitors who load your profile will stop seeing it as soon as the chain confirms. However there will always be an onchain record that it once existed.
